A travel-trade alternative to Google Meet
Google Meet is hard to beat for a quick internal call. Reconnect is for the other kind of meeting — a buyer you want to impress, a room with your name on it, and a recap that reaches your CRM without you typing it.
Google Meet is a straightforward video meeting tool that comes with Google Workspace and works well for everyday calls.
What RepBud Reconnect is
For a five-minute call with a colleague, Google Meet is about as frictionless as it gets and we use that kind of tool too. The meeting Reconnect is built for is different: a trade buyer you have been chasing since the last show, a property you represent watching you present it, a roadshow across three markets.
Reconnect hosts branded meetings and webinars in the browser on LiveKit. Guests join from a link — nothing to install, no account — and give a name and email at the door, so the attendee list is real. You admit each guest from a waiting room. During the session there is screen sharing, chat, Q&A, polls, breakout rooms, a shared whiteboard and a virtual backdrop of the destination you represent. Afterwards the recap is drafted and delivered to The Lantern, matched to the right contact and company for your approval.
What it brings to your day
For the meeting that has to land well
A room with your name on it
Branded rooms and registration pages carrying your company's look, plus a destination backdrop — the buyer arrives somewhere considered rather than somewhere generic.
Notes that reach the CRM
The recap — who attended, what they asked for, the next step — lands in The Lantern already matched to the contact and company, waiting for you to approve it.
Booking links and reminders
Buyers pick a slot and pre-register with consent, then receive Google, Outlook or .ics invites and reminders 24 hours and 1 hour before. Fewer quiet no-shows.
Mixed-market rooms
Live captions, translated chat and Q&A, and spoken translation across ten languages, for the roadshow where not everyone shares a first language.
Being straight with you
Reconnect is not part of an office suite. There is no email, no docs, no persistent team chat, no telephone dial-in, and rooms take 50 attendees on Business Class or 150 on First Class and Charter with hourly allowances. It is included with Business Class and above, so it makes sense for people already using RepBud. For everyday internal calls inside a Google Workspace, Meet is simpler and already paid for.
Frequently Asked Questions
Questions people ask us
Do my guests need an account or an app?+
No. Guests join from a link in the browser with nothing to install and no account to create. They give a name and email at the door, so you know who actually attended — which matters when the attendee list becomes CRM records afterwards.
What happens to the meeting afterwards?+
The session is recorded and transcribed, and an intelligent recap is drafted — who attended, what they asked for, the next step. It is delivered to The Lantern, RepBud's review queue, which matches it to the right contact and company. You approve it before anything is filed, so the record is yours rather than the machine's.
Can I still use my normal calendar?+
Yes. Booking links send calendar invites for Google, Outlook or as an .ics file, so meetings land in whatever calendar you and your buyer already use. Reminders go out 24 hours and 1 hour before the slot.
Can guests follow along in another language?+
Yes. Reconnect offers live captions, translated chat and Q&A, and spoken translation across ten languages — English, Mandarin, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Arabic, Japanese, Hindi and Swahili. It helps a mixed-market roadshow follow along; it is assistive translation rather than a substitute for a professional interpreter on a high-stakes negotiation.
Is it secure enough for a rates conversation?+
The waiting room means you admit each guest by name rather than trusting whoever has the link, you can lock the room once everyone is in, and removing a guest makes it stick. That covers the realistic risk — a link forwarded further than you intended.
