The figures your Self
Assessment needs.

RepBud Revenue prepares an SA302-style tax calculation for a mortgage, generates dividend vouchers, and gives a director or sole trader the numbers behind the SA100, SA102 and SA103 — from a real double-entry ledger. You still file to HMRC; Revenue readies the figures.

What Revenue prepares for your return

Self Assessment is mostly about having the right figures in front of you. Revenue draws them off a genuine double-entry ledger: an SA302-style tax calculation that lays out income, allowances, the bands applied and the tax due — the kind of working a mortgage lender asks for — plus dividend vouchers for a director and the self-employment numbers a sole trader puts on the SA103 pages.

Because it all sits on a real ledger, every figure drills down to the invoices, bills and expenses behind it. So the salary-and-dividends picture for a director, or the income and allowable costs for a sole trader, ties back to the books rather than being typed into a spreadsheet from memory.

And it is honest about its edge: Revenue prepares the figures, it does not submit the return. You or your accountant still file the SA100 and its pages to HMRC. RepBud is designed to assist, not replace, your professional judgement.

How Revenue helps

Everything you need to fill the return in

🧮

SA302-style tax calculation

Income, allowances, the tax bands applied and the tax due — laid out as a tax calculation you can show a mortgage lender or hand to your accountant. Prepared figures, not the stamped HMRC document.

🧾

Dividend vouchers

Declare a dividend and Revenue generates a voucher with the date, shareholder, amount and company details, posting it to the ledger — the record behind the dividend income on a director's return.

👔

Director salary & dividends

The salary and dividend figures behind the SA100 and SA102 employment pages, kept in step with what the company actually paid, so the numbers you enter tie back to the books.

🧰

Sole trader self-employment

Self-employment income and allowable expenses for the SA103 pages, drawn straight from your Profit & Loss, with each figure drilling down to the transactions behind it.

📖

Figures from a real ledger

Everything comes off a genuine double-entry ledger, so the income and expenses on your return are traceable to the invoices, bills and expenses that produced them.

🛡️

Your accountant can check it

Invite your accountant view-only to review the calculation before it goes to HMRC. Revenue prepares the figures — the filing stays with you or them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Self Assessment questions

What is an SA302 and can Revenue produce one?+

An SA302 is HMRC's tax calculation for a tax year — mortgage lenders often ask for it as proof of income. Revenue produces an SA302-style tax calculation from your figures, showing income, allowances, the tax bands applied and the tax due, so you have the working to hand. It prepares the calculation; the official SA302 itself comes from HMRC once your return is filed, so treat ours as the figures behind it rather than the stamped document.

Does Revenue file my Self Assessment to HMRC?+

No. Revenue prepares the figures a Self Assessment needs — it does not submit the return to HMRC. You, or your accountant, still file the SA100 and its supplementary pages. We would rather say that plainly than imply a filing that is not built.

Can it produce dividend vouchers for a director?+

Yes. When a company declares a dividend, Revenue generates a dividend voucher recording the date, the shareholder, the amount and the company details, and the dividend posts to the ledger. Those vouchers give you the record behind the dividend income on a director's Self Assessment.

What figures does it give me for the SA100, SA102 and SA103?+

For a director it prepares the salary and dividend figures (the numbers behind SA100 and the SA102 employment pages), and for a sole trader it prepares the self-employment income and expenses that feed the SA103 pages, drawn from your Profit & Loss. These are prepared figures to enter on the return — Revenue does not populate HMRC's forms for you.

Is the calculation based on a real ledger?+

Yes. Every figure comes from a genuine double-entry ledger, so the income and expenses behind your tax calculation drill down to the transactions that produced them. That makes the numbers you enter on your return traceable rather than typed from a spreadsheet.

Can my accountant review it before I file?+

Yes. Invite your accountant as a view-only user and they can see the ledger, the reports and the tax calculation, then advise on or make the filing. RepBud is designed to assist, not replace, your professional judgement.

Can I bring my existing books in first?+

Yes. Revenue imports from Xero, QuickBooks and Sage — the guided importer in Settings brings your chart of accounts, contacts and opening balances across, so a mid-year switch does not mean starting from a blank set of books.
