Destination Management & Inbound Trade Shows 2026–2027
Destination management runs on appointment-led shows: an inbound operator or DMC on one side of the table, a tour operator or agency buyer on the other, meetings booked weeks ahead. These are the ones where that business actually gets done, with dates, venues and somewhere to stay near each.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Business travel show FAQs
What is a destination management trade show?+
An appointment-led show where destination management companies and inbound operators meet the outbound tour operators and agencies who sell their destination. Meetings are usually scheduled in advance through the organiser’s diary system rather than left to chance on the floor, which is what separates these from a general travel exhibition.
Which trade shows do DMCs attend?+
It depends on the destination. African DMCs work Africa’s Travel Indaba in Durban, WTM Africa in Cape Town and Experience Africa in London; Asia Pacific operators work PATA Travel Mart; French receptives work Rendez-vous en France; US receptives work IPW and Go West Summit. Most also take WTM London, ITB Berlin or Arabian Travel Market, where the buyer side is broadest.
How do the appointment diaries work?+
Most of these shows open a meeting diary several weeks before the doors, and the good slots go early. Buyers shortlist exhibitors from the online directory, so a complete, current profile matters more than the stand itself. Check each event page for when its diary opens.
Is it worth exhibiting or should I visit first?+
Visiting first is a reasonable way to judge whether the buyer profile matches what you sell, and registration is typically free or low-cost for qualified trade. Stand rates and the booking deadline come from the organiser — ask them for the current rate card before committing to a year.
How far ahead should I book hotels for these shows?+
Rooms near the venue for Indaba in Durban or Rendez-vous en France tend to go 3–6 months out, and rates climb closer to the date. Around 8 weeks is a sensible minimum, earlier for the larger shows.
How do I keep track of the buyers I meet across a season of these?+
That is what RepBud is built for — log a meeting on your phone between appointments, keep follow-ups against the right contact and company, and pull a report on an event from your own interaction history afterwards. RepBud is designed to assist, not replace, your professional judgement.
Keep track of who you meet, show after show.
Reps and DMCs, operators and agents, lodges and hotels, travel media — whoever you are there as, log a conversation by text, photo or forwarded email and RepBud files it against the right contact, show after show.
Free to join. No card. The same allowance whoever you are.
1,000 contacts and 5 clients, 25 logs a month, 1 form taking 25 responses, and Relay for 1 GB of file transfers across 2 active links. Card scanning, reports, email and WhatsApp sending, meeting prep and follow-ups pulled out for you are on the paid plans — see what each adds.
