The Secret Santa generator where guests spin to find out

Set a budget, share one link and draw names once. Each guest then opens their own private page and spins a Christmas gift wheel to reveal who they are buying for. Nobody sees the pairings, the organiser included.

What is the Secret Santa Gift Wheel?

It is a Secret Santa generator built on the RepBud Prize Wheel. The organiser creates a gift exchange and guests join from a link with no account. After the organiser draws names, each guest spins a gift wheel on their own private page and it lands on the person they are buying for, with that person's wishlist. It suits offices, remote teams, families, friend groups and clubs of 3 to 200 people.

How it works

  1. Create the exchange. Give it a name, a gift budget and currency, the exchange date and, if you like, a last day to join.
  2. Invite your guests. Share one join link in a group chat or email, or add people yourself and send each a private link. Guests can add a wishlist.
  3. Set exclusions. Mark any pairs who should not draw each other, such as couples or people in the same household.
  4. Draw names once. The draw gives each guest one person to buy for. It runs once, and nobody is shown the pairings.
  5. Guests spin to reveal. Each guest opens their own page and spins the gift wheel to find out who they are buying for, and sees that person's wishlist.

What is included

A private reveal for each guest

The wheel reveals a match that is already decided, so a guest sees the same person each time they return, and only their own.

Hidden from the organiser too

No screen shows who is buying for whom, so the organiser can join the exchange as a guest.

No guest accounts

Guests join from a link in their browser. There is no app to install and no account to create.

Exclusions

Keep couples, housemates or last year's pairs apart. If the exclusions leave someone without a match, the draw tells you before anything is decided.

Wishlists

Guests add gift ideas when they join and can change them later. The person buying for them sees the list at the reveal.

A last day to join

Set a deadline so the draw happens with time to buy and post gifts.

Questions, answered

How does the Secret Santa Gift Wheel work?+

The organiser creates the exchange with a name, gift budget, currency, exchange date and an optional last day to join. Guests join from one shared link, or the organiser adds them and sends each a private link. The organiser draws names once, and each guest then spins a gift wheel on their own private page to find out who they are buying for.

Can the organiser see who got who?+

No. Nobody sees the pairings, including the organiser. Each guest sees only their own match on their own private page, which means the organiser can take part as a guest.

Do guests need an account or an app?+

No. Guests join from a link and everything runs in the browser. The organiser needs a RepBud account, with Wheel Pro, an included plan or a Premium Experience Pass.

Can I stop couples drawing each other?+

Yes. Exclusions are optional pairs who must not draw each other, in either direction. Set them before you draw names. If your exclusions make a valid draw impossible, you are told and nothing is decided until you change them.

Can guests add a wishlist?+

Yes. Guests can add a wishlist when they join and edit it afterwards. It is shown to the person who draws them at the reveal, and to the organiser.

How much does it cost? Is it free?+

Guests take part free. Organising is included with Wheel Pro and with Premium Economy plans and above. Without a subscription, a Premium Experience Pass opens one exchange for 90 days at £9.99, US$12.99, €11.99 or ZAR 209.00 before VAT.

How many people can take part?+

From 3 to 200 guests in one exchange. Names can be drawn once three people have joined.

Does Secret Santa work with an odd number of people?+

Yes. Each guest gives one gift and receives one, so the group does not need to be even. Three is the smallest group.

How do I run Secret Santa for a remote team?+

Create the exchange, then paste the join link wherever the team already talks: a chat channel, an email or a meeting invite. Set a last day to join so the draw happens with time to post gifts. Each colleague reveals their match privately on their own device.

How do I organise Secret Santa at work?+

Set one gift budget for the group and share one link so colleagues opt in themselves. Add exclusions where needed, draw once, and colleagues reveal their match privately. A Premium Experience Pass covers a single event, so a one-off office exchange needs no subscription.

Can I share it in a WhatsApp group?+

Yes. The join link is an ordinary link you can paste into a group chat. After the draw each guest uses their own private page, so results do not appear in the group.

What happens if someone wants to join after the draw?+

The guest list closes when names are drawn, because the draw runs once. Set a last day to join and draw after it, so latecomers have a clear cut-off.

Is Secret Santa the same as Kris Kringle or white elephant?+

Kris Kringle, or Kris Kindle in Ireland, is another name for the same game. White elephant is a different game: gifts go into a shared pool and can be swapped, with no name draw. This tool runs the name-draw game.
