COMMON QUESTIONS
Business travel show FAQs
What is the main business travel show in the UK?+
Business Travel Show Europe, held at ExCeL London in June. It is the largest corporate travel event in Europe and draws travel buyers, travel managers, TMCs and suppliers. Registration is typically free for qualified corporate travel professionals.
What is the difference between a business travel show and a MICE show?+
Business travel events focus on managed corporate travel — policy, booking tools, TMCs and duty of care. MICE events (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) focus on group and event business: venues, destinations, DMCs and incentive programmes. IBTM and IMEX sit on the MICE side; Business Travel Show Europe sits on the corporate travel side. Plenty of people attend both.
Which MICE trade shows are worth attending?+
IBTM World in Barcelona each November and IMEX Frankfurt each May are the two largest global MICE shows. IMEX America in Las Vegas covers the North American market, and IBTM Americas and IBTM Africa serve their regions. Meetings Africa in Johannesburg is the main African business-events show.
Are business travel shows free to attend?+
Visitor registration is often free for verified trade professionals, and hosted buyer programmes at IBTM and IMEX can cover flights and accommodation for qualifying corporate buyers. Exhibiting is a separate cost. Check each event page for what applies this year.
How far ahead should I book hotels for a business travel show?+
Rooms near the venue for shows like IBTM World in Barcelona and IMEX Frankfurt tend to go 3–6 months out, and rates climb closer to the date. Around 8 weeks is a sensible minimum, earlier for the larger shows.
How do I keep track of the meetings I take at these shows?+
RepBud is built for it — log a meeting on your phone between appointments, keep follow-ups against the right contact, and get a report of the event from your own interaction history afterwards. RepBud is designed to assist, not replace, your professional judgement.
Keep track of who you meet, show after show.
Reps and DMCs, operators and agents, lodges and hotels, travel media — whoever you are there as, log a conversation by text, photo or forwarded email and RepBud files it against the right contact, show after show.
Free to join. No card. The same allowance whoever you are.
1,000 contacts and 5 clients, 25 logs a month, one form taking 25 responses, and Relay for 1 GB of file transfers across two active links. Card scanning, reports, email and WhatsApp sending, meeting prep and follow-ups pulled out for you are on the paid plans — see what each adds.
