What is the RepBud Prize Wheel?
The RepBud Prize Wheel is a free online prize wheel and random winner picker with live QR entry: entrants scan a QR code, join from their own phone, and appear on the wheel in real time. Unlike a basic name-picker wheel, it can collect each entrant's company and email — with their explicit consent — and export entrants and a timestamped winner log as CSV, which makes it a spin-to-win game and a lead-capture tool in one. It runs in the browser with no signup, no ads and no watermark, and entries auto-delete after 7 days unless exported.
How to run it live at a trade show
A spinning wheel pulls a crowd; a QR code turns that crowd into a contact list you collected with permission. Here is the whole flow — it takes about five minutes to set up.
- 1Put the wheel on your stand screenOpen the wheel on any laptop or screen at your stand, pick a theme (or your brand colours and logo), and switch on event mode — fullscreen, with the screen kept awake.
- 2Go live to show your QR codeOne click creates a live session with a QR code and a short join code beside the wheel. No account needed — not for you, not for your visitors.
- 3Visitors scan and join from their phoneThey type their name; company and email are optional. Email is only stored with an explicit consent tick that tells them you, the organiser, receive their details.
- 4Names land on the wheel in real timeEach new entrant pops onto the wheel within a second or two — which is exactly what draws a crowd to a stand. Close entries whenever you like.
- 5Spin, draw winners, repeat through the daySynced ticks, a fanfare and confetti on the win. Remove winners and respin for later rounds, draw runner-ups, and let the winner log keep score with timestamps.
- 6Export your entrants and follow up fastDownload entrants (with consented emails) and the winner log as CSV. Research by CEIR, the Center for Exhibition Industry Research, has found that roughly 4 in 5 trade-show leads get no follow-up at all — following up within days puts you ahead of most of the floor.

How it compares to a generic name wheel
| Feature | RepBud Prize Wheel | Typical name-picker wheels |
|---|---|---|
| Live QR entry from phones | Yes — names appear on the wheel in real time | Rare; usually organiser types the list |
| Contact details with consent | Optional email behind a consent tick, CSV export | Typically none |
| Ads and watermarks | None | Often ad-funded |
| Winner log | Rounds, runner-ups and timestamps, exportable | Varies; often none |
| Weighted entries | Weights 1–20, wedge size matches the odds | Usually duplicate names as a workaround |
| Event mode | Fullscreen, screen kept awake, large QR | Basic fullscreen |
| Price for the above | Free | Free wheels lack capture; booth-game platforms are paid |
Questions, answered
Is this prize wheel really free?
Yes. The wheel, live QR entry, themes, sound and CSV export are free to use — no account, no ads, no watermark. RepBud makes it as a useful tool for the travel trade; if you find it handy, have a look at what RepBud can help you with.
How does live QR entry work?
Click "Go live" and the wheel shows a QR code with a short session code. Anyone in the room scans it, types their name (company and email are optional), and their name appears on the wheel within a second or two. You can close entries at any point and spin.
Can I use this as a spin-to-win game at a trade show stand?
Yes — that is what it is designed for. Put the wheel on your stand screen in event mode, show the QR code, and visitors join from their own phones while you run draws through the day. Dedicated booth-game platforms charge for this; this wheel offers live QR entry, consented contact capture and CSV export free.
How do I collect contact details with the QR code?
Entrants can add their email when they join, behind a consent checkbox that states the organiser receives their details. Consented emails appear in your entrant CSV export, ready for follow-up. Entries that are not exported auto-delete 7 days after the session starts.
What happens to entrant details?
Entrants choose whether to share an email, with a clear consent note that the organiser receives it. Entries auto-delete 7 days after the session starts unless you export them as CSV. As the organiser, you are responsible for entrant data you export.
Is the draw fair?
Winners are picked with the browser’s cryptographically secure random source. Equal weights mean an equal chance; if you set weights (1–20), each entry’s chance is proportional to its weight and its wedge is sized to match, so the wheel shows what the odds are.
Can I draw more than one winner?
Yes — after each draw you can remove the winner and spin again for the next round, or draw a runner-up. The winner log records each result with its round, type and timestamp, and exports to CSV.
Can I brand the wheel?
Pick from four themes, set your own brand colours, drop your logo into the wheel hub and add a background image. Logos and backgrounds are saved in your browser only — they are not uploaded.
How do I add a long list of names?
Three ways: type them, paste a list (one per line, optionally "Name, Company"), or upload a CSV file. The file is read in your browser and is not uploaded to a server.
Does it need wi-fi at the venue?
The wheel, sound and confetti run in your browser, so a manual-list wheel keeps working on a flaky connection once the page is open. Live QR entry is the one part that needs a connection — for your screen and for entrants’ phones.
Does it work on a big screen at an event?
Yes — event mode goes fullscreen with a large QR code and keeps the screen awake. Sound is synthesized in the browser, so the ticks and fanfare work without any audio files to load.
RepBud is designed to assist, not replace, your professional judgement.
