Fun office award categories, on a wheel
Staff awards work best when the categories celebrate the things colleagues notice day to day. This wheel starts you with positive categories you can rename, and spinning it on the night picks which award comes next, which keeps the room guessing.
Try this wheel
Spin it here. Open it as your own wheel to rename wedges, change weights, save it and show it on a big screen.
A free RepBud account runs your own wheel. No card needed; guests join without an account or app.
What is on this wheel
Your wheel opens as “Office awards categories” with these 8 wedges. A higher weight means a bigger wedge and a proportionally higher chance; rename, add or remove any of them.
- Coffee champion
- Calm under pressure
- Best newcomer
- Unsung hero
- Problem solver
- Team player
- Brightest idea
- Kindest colleague
Tips
- Keep categories positive: an award nobody would want to win in front of their manager does more harm than good.
- Ask the team for nominations a week ahead, and keep the shortlist to three or four names per award.
- Mix serious awards with light ones so the evening has a rhythm, and save the most valued award for last.
- Remove each award from the wheel once it is presented, then spin again for the next one.
- Have the award wording ready for the presenter, so each winner hears why they were chosen.
When you want more from it
Awards Night helps you present the ceremony: a running order, nominees, a private presenter console and an audience screen that reveals each winner with a nominees wheel or a gold envelope. You can prepare and rehearse it free.

Questions
How many award categories should we have?
Most teams settle on somewhere between six and twelve. Fewer categories leave time to say something meaningful about each winner; more suit a large organisation with several teams.
Can the wheel pick the order of the awards?
Yes. Spin to pick the next category, then remove it and spin again. The winner log records each result with a timestamp.
Can we reveal the winners on a big screen?
Yes, with Awards Night. You set the running order, nominees and presenter notes, then reveal each winner with a nominees wheel or a gold envelope on an audience screen. Setting up and rehearsing is free.
