A brain break wheel for quick classroom resets
When attention drops, spin the wheel for a short activity the whole class can do beside their desks, then get back to work. This wheel mixes movement breaks with calmer ones, so you can reset a restless class or settle an excited one.
Try this wheel
Spin it here. Open it as your own wheel to rename wedges, change weights, save it and show it on a big screen.
A free RepBud account runs your own wheel. No card needed; guests join without an account or app.
What is on this wheel
Your wheel opens as “Brain breaks” with these 10 wedges. A higher weight means a bigger wedge and a proportionally higher chance; rename, add or remove any of them.
- Stretch high and low
- Ten star jumps
- Deep breaths for 1 min
- Simon says
- Silent statues
- Shake it out
- Count to 20 backwards
- Mirror your partner
- Desk drum rhythm
- Teacher’s choice
Tips
- Keep each break to two minutes or less and set a timer, so the reset does not become the lesson.
- Weight the calmer wedges higher after lunch and the movement wedges higher in the first lesson of the day.
- Let a different student press spin each time; it gives them a small job and keeps the break fair.
- Swap in activities that suit your room: if desks are close together, replace the jumping ones with seated stretches.
Questions
Can I add my own brain break activities?
Yes. Rename, add or remove wedges. Each label shows up to 24 characters on the wheel, so keep them short.
Can I make some activities come up more often?
Yes. Give each wedge a weight from 1 to 20. A wedge with a higher weight is larger on screen and more likely to be picked.
Does it work on an interactive whiteboard?
Yes. The wheel runs in a web browser on a laptop, whiteboard or TV, and needs an internet connection. Event mode fills the screen and keeps it awake.
