A random speaker order wheel for lightning talks
Nobody wants to go first, and a running order picked by the host can look like favouritism. Paste your speakers onto the wheel and spin before each slot: the person it lands on is up next, and you take them off the wheel once they have spoken.
Try this wheel
These numbered entries show how the draw works. Your own wheel opens as “Lightning talk order”, ready for your list or a live QR draw.
A free RepBud account runs your own wheel. No card needed; guests join without an account or app.
What the demonstration shows
Your own wheel opens empty as “Lightning talk order”. Add names by typing, pasting a list or uploading a CSV or Excel file, or go live and let people join by QR code.

Tips
- Paste the speaker list in one go, one name per line, rather than typing names on the night.
- Spin for the next speaker while the current one is wrapping up, so the next person has a moment to get ready.
- Remove each speaker after their turn so the wheel only holds people still waiting.
- If someone has to leave early, give them a higher weight rather than skipping the draw altogether.
Questions
Does the wheel remove a speaker once they have been picked?
You choose: remove the winner and spin again for the next slot, or leave them on. The winner log records the order with a timestamp for each spin.
Can I save the list for the next event?
Yes. Draws, names and winners save to your free RepBud account, so you can reopen the wheel on another device.
Can I use it for pitch competitions?
Yes. The same wheel works for pitch order, demo days and show-and-tell. Rename the draw and paste in the teams instead of speakers.
