A sprint retrospective question wheel

Retros go stale when the same three questions come round each sprint. Spin this wheel for the next prompt and the team discusses it for a few minutes before spinning again. The prompts cover what went well, what slowed the team down and what to try next.

Try this wheel

Spin it here. Open it as your own wheel to rename wedges, change weights, save it and show it on a big screen.

What is on this wheel

Your wheel opens as “Sprint retrospective” with these 8 wedges. A higher weight means a bigger wedge and a proportionally higher chance; rename, add or remove any of them.

  • What went well?
  • What slowed us down?
  • One thing to stop
  • One thing to start
  • Shout-out a teammate
  • Biggest surprise
  • What would you change?
  • Confidence 1 to 5

Tips

  1. Time-box each prompt, for example five minutes, and spin again when the time is up.
  2. Remove a prompt once it is discussed so the next spin always brings something new.
  3. Close with an action: whoever spins the last prompt names one change the team will try next sprint.
  4. Keep a shout-out wedge on the wheel; recognition is easy to skip when a sprint was hard.

Questions

Can I change the retrospective prompts?+

Yes. Rename, add or remove wedges, and give a prompt a higher weight, from 1 to 20, if you want it to come up more often.

Can I keep a record of what came up?+

The winner log records each prompt the wheel landed on, with a timestamp, and exports to CSV. Keep the discussion notes in your usual tool.

Can I reuse the wheel each sprint?+

Yes. Draws save to your RepBud account, so you can reopen the same retrospective wheel on any device.
