A times tables wheel for quick-fire maths practice

Spin the wheel to choose which times table the class practises next, from the two times table to the twelve. It turns a drill into a game, and weighting the tables the class finds hardest brings them up more often.

Try this wheel

Spin it here. Open it as your own wheel to rename wedges, change weights, save it and show it on a big screen.

What is on this wheel

Your wheel opens as “Times tables” with these 11 wedges. A higher weight means a bigger wedge and a proportionally higher chance; rename, add or remove any of them.

Tips

  1. Raise the weight of the tables your class finds hardest, often the sevens and eights, so they come up more often.
  2. Remove the tables the class has mastered and add them back for a mixed revision round at the end of term.
  3. Spin twice and multiply the two results for a harder round.
  4. Keep each round short: ten quick questions, then spin again.

Questions

Can I focus on the tables my class is learning now?+

Yes. Remove the tables you are not covering yet, or give the current ones a higher weight from 1 to 20.

Can students use it on their own devices?+

The wheel is run by the teacher on one screen with a free RepBud account. Students follow on the board without an account.

Does it make a sound when it stops?+

Yes. The wheel ticks as it turns and plays a fanfare on the result. You can turn sound off.
