A QR code lucky draw for your dinner or event
Put a QR code on the screen as guests arrive. Each guest scans it, types their name on their own phone and appears on the wheel, with no app and no paper tickets. When it is time for the lucky draw, spin once for each prize, take the winner off and spin again, so one guest cannot win twice.
Try this wheel
These numbered entries show how the draw works. Your own wheel opens as “Lucky draw”, ready for your list or a live QR draw.
A free RepBud account runs your own wheel. No card needed; guests join without an account or app.
What the demonstration shows
Your own wheel opens empty as “Lucky draw”. Add names by typing, pasting a list or uploading a CSV or Excel file, or go live and let people join by QR code.

Tips
- Open entries during the welcome drinks and close them just before the draw, and tell guests when the cut-off is.
- Draw the smaller prizes first and the grand prize last, so the room stays until the end.
- Take each winner off the wheel before the next spin so one guest cannot win two prizes, unless your rules allow it.
- Draw a runner-up for each prize in case a winner has gone home; the winner log keeps both.
- Ask guests to enter the name on their place card or badge, so the person you call out is easy to find.
When you want more from it
For a lucky draw with many prizes, Wheel Pro shows the winners so far on the guests’ entry page and adds your own entry questions, such as a table number.

Questions
Do guests need an app to enter the lucky draw?
No. They scan the QR code with their phone camera and type their name in the browser, with no account or app. The organiser needs a free RepBud account to run the wheel.
How many guests can enter?
Up to 500 entries per draw on the free wheel, or 2,000 with Wheel Pro. When guests add an email, each email address can enter once.
How do I show the lucky draw is fair?
Each spin is picked with the browser’s cryptographically secure random source, and with equal weights each guest has the same chance. The winner log records each result with its round and time. For a printable record, a Draw Certificate gives one draw a page anyone can use to check it.
Can guests see who has won on their phones?
With Wheel Pro, the guests’ entry page shows the winners so far, which helps people at the back of the room. On the free wheel, winners show on the big screen and in your winner log.
Does the venue need wi-fi?
The screen and the guests’ phones need a connection; guests can use mobile data. Scan the QR code from the back of the room before the event to check it reads from there.
